Terms
Terms of use
What you agree to when you buy from us, and what we owe you in return.

Who you are dealing with
“We” is Lehnga Bazar. Using the site, placing an order or sending a rental enquiry means you accept these terms.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep the password to yourself. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has it.
You need a real name and a confirmed email address before you can place an order. That is not bureaucracy: the confirmation goes to that address, and a mistyped one belongs to a stranger.
Prices, and getting them wrong
Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST where it applies. Every price is recalculated on our own server when you order — what your browser was showing is never what you are charged, which protects both of us.
Occasionally a price is simply wrong. Where the error is obvious we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honour it, and we will tell you why.
Stock
Most of what we sell is made in small runs, and two people can want the last piece at the same moment. Your order is an offer to buy; it becomes a contract when we confirm it. If we cannot fulfil it we will say so quickly and refund you in full.
How a hand-made piece varies
Colour on a screen is not colour in a room, and no two hand-worked pieces are identical. Slight variation in shade, in the density of embroidery, and in measurements is what hand-made means. It is not a fault, and it is not grounds for a return on its own — though if a piece is genuinely not as described, it is, and the returns page covers that.
Renting from a partner shop
This is the important one. Rental listings belong to independent shops, not to us. We introduce you to them and record what you asked for; we do not own the garment, hold your deposit, or take any payment for a hire.
Rent, the security deposit, the condition of the piece, late fees and damage are all agreed between you and that shop, and the contract is with them. The figures shown when you send an enquiry are the shop’s own published rates and are indicative until they confirm.
We do vet shops before they can list, and we take listings down when something is wrong. That is moderation, not a guarantee of their conduct.
Reviews and anything you post
Write honestly. We may remove anything abusive, fraudulent, or that is not about the product. By posting you allow us to show it on the site.
What is ours
The photographs, text and design on this site belong to us or to the people who made them for us. Please do not copy them for another shop.
Using the site properly
Do not attempt to break into it, scrape it wholesale, or interfere with anybody else’s use of it. We rate-limit the parts that send messages or emails, which is why a burst of submissions is refused.
What we are liable for
We stand behind what we sell: if a piece is faulty, not as described, or never arrives, we will put it right. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses — and nothing here limits rights you have under Indian consumer law, which we could not exclude even if we wanted to.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by Indian law, and Indian courts have jurisdiction.
Changes, and asking us
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. Your order is governed by the terms in force when you placed it. Questions go to lehangabazar@gmail.com.
